Shafaq News/ Head of the Hajj and Umrah Authority Sami Al-Masoudi announced on Friday the possibility of opening a corridor for convoys of pilgrims to neighboring countries through Iraqi territory in order to achieve economic benefits.
This came in his speech during the first conference on Hajj bus drivers.
During the conference, the head of the authority stated that the Saudi authorities had approved the operation of Umrah trips after the end of this year's Hajj season.
Al-Masoudi also referred to "the possibility of Iraq being a corridor for convoys of pilgrims from neighboring countries because of the great economic and tourism benefits for the country."
