More than 3 billion dollars in sales of the Central Bank of Iraq in hard currency in a month
Shafak News Agency correspondent stated that the Central Bank sold 3 billion and 449 million and 42 thousand dollars during the month of May, in the days when it opened its auction for buying and selling US dollars, at an average of 202 million, 884 thousand and 866 dollars per day, up from last April, which The average sales amounted to 199 million, 11 thousand and 350 dollars."
He added that the increase in the bank's total sales came as a result of exceeding its dollar sales to more than 200 million dollars per day for most days of the month, pointing out that the bank stopped conducting the auction for a period of 9 days due to the coincidence of Eid al-Fitr.
Our correspondent indicated that most of these sales went in the form of remittances abroad to finance foreign trade, while the selling price of the dollar transferred to bank accounts abroad, in addition to the cash sale, amounted to 1460 dinars per dollar.
