The Central Bank's sales of hard currency continue to rise, especially foreign remittances, so that about 60% of Iraq's oil revenues go abroad daily as hard currency for the purpose of import.
And the Central Bank sold, during its auction to buy and sell the US dollar, today, Sunday, 228 million and 709 thousand and 615 US dollars, which the bank covered at a base exchange rate of 1460 dinars per dollar.
And 90.38% of these sales went to enhance balances abroad in the form of remittances and credits, amounting to 208 million and 609 thousand and 615 dollars, while the rest went in the form of cash sales, which amounted to 20 million and 100 thousand dollars.
And 32 banks that fulfilled requests to enhance balances abroad, and 13 banks to meet cash requests, in addition to 140 mediation companies.
While the Central Bank transferred more than $208 million abroad during the day, Iraqi oil sales daily amount to nearly $370 million, which means nearly 60% of Iraq's oil revenues go daily abroad as hard currency for the purpose of import.
