The Iraqi parliament member, Mustafa Al-Arsan, stressed the importance of the Food Security Law, which was recently voted by the Parliament, while stating that “there is a clear effort to include laws that serve Iraqi society, including the amendment of the general amnesty law.”
"The law is very important, because what the world is going through in terms of food, needs such laws," Al-Arassan, a deputy from Anbar Governorate, said.
He added that "this law contributes to addressing several files, including electricity, compensation, lecturers, administrators, regional development, and everything the country needs to run daily life, so as not to impede the wheel of life and the government's movement in order to support society."
The grooms pointed out that there are “laws that will be legislated in the near future, including the general amnesty law and others, in order for Parliament to begin its legislative work, since Parliament is the only legitimate authority in the country, while the government is a caretaker government.”
Regarding the outstanding issues, which residents of the liberated areas hope to address, including the file of the disappeared, mass graves, the displaced, and compensation, the grooms said, “With regard to the displaced, a paragraph was included in the Food Security Law, to address their situation in the camps inside Iraq, as well as the file of compensation for the liberated areas.”
He stressed that "there is a clear effort to include laws that serve Iraqi society, including amending the general amnesty law, which the Iraqi parliament will proceed to amend in order to do justice to the oppressed in Iraqi prisons who received arbitrary sentences."
