    Earth News/ The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Acting Judge Salar Abdul Sattar Muhammad, met today, Friday, with the Director-General of the Red Cross, Peter Maurer, in the presence of the President of the Commission for People with Disabilities and Special Needs, Ahmed Hadi Baniya. This came on the sidelines of the (110) session of the International Labor Conference held in Geneva .
    A statement by the media office and received by Earth News stated, "During the meeting, they discussed the possibility of increasing the support provided to the ministry to accomplish its tasks, especially with regard to the National Center for Occupational Health and Safety and equipping the centers with the necessary tools in accordance with international and environmental standards to preserve the safety of workers and increasing the number of these centers in various governorates, as well as Increasing support for the displaced in the camps after what the country was exposed to during the terrorist Daesh period, and training the working cadres on psychological support methods to provide psychological assistance to the displaced and preparing programs for the purpose of returning them and providing the necessary services and support to them in their areas of origin.


    Abdul Sattar added, "The displaced need to open psychological support centers equipped with trained cadres for victims of terrorism and violence, especially the Yazidis who have been exposed to the most heinous humanitarian crimes," noting that "the Ministry of Labor has set up a special directorate for the affairs of Yazidi survivors, but it needs support and rehabilitation to perform its tasks towards This category."
    For his part, the head of the Commission for the Care of People with Disabilities and Special Needs stated during the meeting that “the percentage of people with disabilities has increased in Iraq in the recent period due to the wars that the country has been exposed to and terrorist attacks, which requires increasing financial support provided to advance this category and provide the necessary services for them,” pointing to “the desire of The authority is opening physical rehabilitation centers for people with disabilities in the central and southern governorates, similar to the center that was opened in Erbil governorate to enable people with severe physical disabilities and provide them with powered wheelchairs and a visual stick for the blind to facilitate their integration into society.
    For his part, the Director-General of the organization expressed "his readiness to provide the necessary cooperation and support to the Ministry of Labor in providing the largest service to the groups it sponsors," pointing out that "there should be a joint study between the Iraqi government, the Red Cross team in Iraq and the private sector, in order to open these centers."
