The Parliamentary Committee on Economy, Industry and Trade announced the existence of a new mechanism to improve and increase the vocabulary of the ration card, following the vote on the emergency support law for food security.
The head of the committee, Ali Youssef Al-Moussawi, said: “The committee hosted the Minister of Trade, Alaa Al-Jubouri, and discussed with him the provision of foodstuffs to Iraqi families through the ration card,” noting that “Al-Jubouri confirmed that the ministry has fully secured the items of the ration card for the coming months, and it is ready for delivery.” .
He added that "the minister indicated that the annual processing of the ration card is for six months in one year," stressing that "improving vocabulary during the next stage is commensurate with the taste of the Iraqi citizen and family."
Al-Moussawi pointed out that "there is a new mechanism for distributing the items of the ration card after the vote on the law of emergency support for food security, represented by increasing the number of distribution months in one year or increasing the items or their quantities during the next stage," explaining that "the committee will conduct field visits to the stores of the Ministry of Commerce for information."
