150 commercial booths were charged... 50 firefighting teams succeeded in putting out a "massive fire" south of Baghdad

On Saturday, civil defense teams in Baghdad managed to put out a large fire that engulfed 150 bypassed booths in a market in the south of the capital.
The Directorate of Civil Defense stated in a statement that 50 specialized firefighting teams from both sides of Karkh and Rusafa, in addition to the search and rescue team, mobilized and succeeded in putting out “a massive fire that engulfed more than 150 commercial kiosks, built of sandwich panels, specialized in selling perfumes and used clothes inside the Al-Balah market in Abu Dashir area, south of Baghdad.
And she indicated that "the market was cordoned off from several axes and the roofs of the nearby houses were taken as a place to fight the fire from the top into the burning market, and the civil defense teams encountered great difficulties due to the presence of concrete blocks surrounding the commercial market from all sides, and it was impossible to enter the fire engines."
She pointed out that the teams “faced difficulties in work with the presence of the interference from the citizens gathered in the market site and confused the effort to control and complete the extinguishing operations, and the teams had to withdraw part of their teams to carry out rescue operations for citizens suffering from suffocation as a result of inhaling the toxic products of the fire in conjunction with the fire suppression operations.”
The directorate confirmed that “the civil defense teams completed the operations of suppression and cooling without recording human losses, and as a result of that, the civil defense requested to open an investigation and summon a forensic expert to determine the causes of the outbreak of the fire inside the crowded market in the first place.
