A parliamentary committee is preparing to host the Iraqi Oil Minister regarding raising production
Shafaq News/ The Parliamentary Oil and Gas Committee confirmed, on Monday, that it will host Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar to discuss with him the "OPEC" decision to raise Iraqi oil production to eight million barrels per day.
Committee member Bahaa Al-Din Al-Nouri told Shafaq News Agency, "A number of deputies collected during the last period signatures to interrogate Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar, according to files prepared by them."
He pointed out that "the interrogation was delayed on the grounds that the government is in charge of the day-to-day business, and the House of Representatives has no right to grant confidence to a minister if he dismissed the previous minister."
He added that "the coming days will witness the hosting of the Minister of Oil within the committee, and during the hosting many files will be opened, most notably raising production after OPEC agreed to raise Iraqi oil production to eight million barrels per day. The current is six million barrels per day.
