    Economy News - Baghdad

    Today, Wednesday, Finance Minister Ali Abdel Amir Allawi directed the Industrial and Al-Rasheed bank to support the economic process. 
      The ministry said in a statement, "The Minister of Finance, Ali Abdul-Amir Allawi, conducted a field visit to Al-Rasheed Bank and the Industrial Bank, to see the progress of business, tasks and banking services provided to citizens and employees, during which he also met with the managers of the two banks and their advanced staff."
    The statement added, "The visit comes as part of a series of visits that Allawi is conducting to find out the obstacles facing the work of the departments, bodies, banks and companies affiliated with the ministry, and work to overcome them as quickly as possible, as well as follow up the work of the banking sector and its application of regulations and laws."
    Allawi stressed, according to the statement, "The Al-Rasheed and Al-Sinai bank departments represented by their general manager, Bassem Abdul Yusuf and Bilal Sabah Al-Hamdani, must make maximum efforts to raise the level of banking services provided, and expand the size of the actual contribution to the banking sector, because this sector is considered one of the pillars supporting any stable and vibrant economy."
    He continued, "Within the financial and economic reform plan (the White Paper), we have adopted a project to revive the role of the government banking sector, which necessitates the two banks to play a pivotal and key role in supporting the industrial and economic renaissance process by providing absolute support to the productive sectors of the owners of local industrial projects and small projects, which is reflected Positively on the progress of work and the recovery of the overall national economy.
