, a member of the Parliamentary Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Committee, Muhannad Al-Khazraji, confirmed today, Thursday, the committee's intention to reduce the prices of oil derivatives.
Al-Khazraji said, in a statement received by Mawazine News, that "the committee will work to issue a parliamentary resolution obligating the government to reduce the prices of oil derivatives in proportion to the economic situation of the Iraqi people."
The statement added that "the government must assume its responsibilities towards the decline in the economic level and work to reduce fuel prices, which are burdening the citizen in light of the difficult economic conditions facing the Iraqi people."
Al-Khazraji called on the government, "to show courage and stop wasting oil wealth that is exported to neighboring countries for free, as well as smuggling operations, and to stop humiliating and subjugating the downtrodden classes of the people, warning of the coming hungry revolution because of the policy of oppression practiced against the citizen."
