Yesterday, Saturday, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi laid the foundation stone for a project to build 1,000 schools across Iraq, stressing that the government is serious about implementing the agreement with China. Al-Kazemi said in a tweet followed by (Al-Mada), "Today, with the help of God, we laid the foundation stone for a project to build (1,000) schools throughout Iraq."
He added, that this came "after overcoming all obstacles and procedures to put the project into practice; In order to support the infrastructure of education, and work for the comprehensive advancement of our beloved Iraq. Al-Kazemi had said during the celebration of laying the foundation stone for a project to build 1,000 model schools across Iraq, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Media Office, received by (Al-Mada), “I am happy to be among you and with you in this celebration, and to set out to lay the foundation stone for a construction project.” 1000 schools in all governorates of Iraq. He added, "This strategic project is important for building society and developing our generations towards building leaders to serve Iraq in the future."
Al-Kazemi noted that “we must cherish and be proud of the history and legacy of our ancestors, and we must be aware that education and science are essential parts for the advancement of any society, but unfortunately there has been no interest in education since 2003,” stressing that “this project will be accomplished within the Iraqi-Chinese agreement. , which many have previously questioned about the government’s lack of seriousness in implementing it.”
He explained: "Today we lay the foundation stone for the implementation of this agreement, in order to send a message that education is very important in the life of our society and the needs of our children."
Al-Kazemi stressed, "The need for us to work on paying attention to education, not only in building schools, but also in changing and developing educational curricula."
He stated, "This is not only the responsibility of the government, but rather the responsibility of the government, the prime minister, the specialized sectors, society and specialists." Al-Kazemi continued, "We have to look for these specialists, and support them by contributing to building Iraq," explaining that "the project includes building 1,000 schools, and it will include all of Iraq's governorates, and we will follow up on the project and work within the timetable for its implementation."
Al-Kazi thanked “the people in charge and the Higher Committee for School Construction for this project, who worked day and night to implement it.”
He pointed out, "We must make our choices between building the homeland or being lazy. Building requires patience and time, and demolishing is easy and can be destroyed within a short period."
Al-Kazemi concluded by saying: "Today, I announced the launch of this project, and laid the foundation stone for it for the sake of Iraq and the Iraqis." The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers had confirmed early last month that the stages of work in the model schools within the terms of the Chinese agreement are progressing at an increasing pace in accordance with the required specifications. And the General Secretariat stated in a previous statement received by (Al-Mada), “The Department of National Projects and School Buildings, in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, conducted a field visit to Al-Diwaniyah Governorate, to determine the progress of work on the construction of model school buildings, by the staff of the Chinese company (Power Jaina).” .
The statement added, "This visit came in response to the directives of the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Naim Al-Ghazi, regarding the follow-up of the implementation stages of the model school buildings project throughout Iraq, which falls within the framework of the outcomes of the Iraqi-Chinese agreement."
He pointed out that "the share of Al-Diwaniyah Governorate reached 61 schools distributed in all districts and districts of the governorate," noting that "the stages of completion are proceeding at an increasing pace, and that all the received sites are open and continuous work, according to the required technical specifications." The statement pointed out that "the work's logistics, from the security and technical aspects, in the work sites are fully secured by the security services in the governorate and all relevant departments."
He explained, "The representative of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, during the tour stops, conveyed the greetings of Secretary-General Hamid Naim Al-Ghazi, to the Iraqi and Chinese staff working in the implementation sites," urging "the need to make more efforts to complete the construction of schools according to the time limits specified in the contract clauses." .
The statement went on to say, "Al-Ghazi attached great importance to this vital project, which will provide a great service in the education sector, by introducing students to the learning experience within urban spaces designed with modern, efficient and high-specification urban methods."
