    Economy News - Translation
OPEC oil revenues jumped 77% in 2021 as oil prices recovered from the slowdown caused by the coronavirus on the back of rising demand.
OPEC said in its latest annual statistical bulletin today, Tuesday, that the total value of oil exports from the countries that make up the 13-nation bloc jumped to $561 billion last year.
Saudi Arabia's oil exports rose by about 70 percent annually to $202 billion while the UAE's exports rose 75 percent to $54.5 billion. Iraq's exports grew 80 percent to $79.7 billion.
Brent crude, the global benchmark for two-thirds of the world's oil, rose about 67 percent last year. According to thenationalnews website.
It has risen by about 48 percent so far this year as advanced economies recover from the pandemic and Russia's military offensive continues in Ukraine, where the European Union plans to ban most oil imports from Moscow by the end of this year.
Brent crude was trading up 1.78 percent to $117.14 a barrel at 3.04 pm UAE time on Tuesday. West Texas Intermediate, the gauge that tracks US crude, rose 1.65 percent to $111.38 a barrel.
