, Thursday, the Ministry of Planning discussed the mechanisms for measuring the poverty line; In preparation for the preparation of the third strategy for the next five years.
The ministry stated in a statement, that it "held a technical workshop dedicated to discussing and measuring poverty concepts, in cooperation with the World Bank," noting that "this came within the framework of the ministry's preparations to write the third strategy to reduce poverty in Iraq for the next five years."
She added, "The workshop witnessed an explanation of the concepts of poverty, multidimensional poverty, and the mechanism of measurement or determining the poverty line, with the specificity of Iraq in comparison to the countries of the world."
The Director General of the Executive Department of the Poverty Reduction Strategy in the Ministry of Planning, Sabah Gendi Mansour, said, "This workshop is one of the technical workshops for the institutional development of the Ministry of Planning's employees," noting that "
He stressed that "the workshop will be followed by the formation of sectoral teams in cooperation with the relevant ministries, which occur in conjunction with the launch of the implementation of the economic and social survey of the family, which will provide up-to-date data on poverty rates."
