Iraqi and Arab political analysts expected that Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi will discuss two important files during his upcoming visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The expert on Saudi affairs, Dr. Ali Al-Amiri, said: "It is hoped that Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi will visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and meet with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and senior Saudi officials."
Al-Amiri added in an interview, that “the goal of Al-Kazemi’s visit will be to inform the Saudi leadership of the results of his recent visit to Tehran and the position on the agenda of negotiations with Riyadh, and to prepare for his attendance at the Saudi-American summit that US President Joseph Biden will attend in mid-July.”
And he indicated that "the Arab region has become hot recently, in addition to the fact that the political situation in Iraq has become worse due to the political blockage, so Al-Kazemi's visit will come to test the waters for these developments and what is going on at the Arab-American Summit."
On the future of Iraqi-Saudi relations, Al-Amiri explained that “those relations and their development will depend on the formation of the new government and the nature of the political system that will be present in Iraq, and that there must be a change in its nature and structure, given that this is a strong popular demand in the political process.”
As for the Saudi political analyst, Fahd Hamdan Al-Shuraim, he praised the repeated visits of Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi to the kingdom, calling them "distinguished steps on the right path."
Al-Shuraim said: "Al-Kazemi's visit to the Kingdom paves the way for his participation in the Saudi-American summit, which will benefit Iraq and the region," stressing that "Al-Kazemi will carry a message from Iran regarding the nature of the upcoming negotiations with the Kingdom."
And he indicated that "Al-Kazemi wishes to be the first prime minister who had distinguished relations with the Kingdom through repeated visits to it and Baghdad's hosting of the Saudi-Iranian talks after distinguished Iraqi mediation."
Yesterday, Sunday, Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdullahian announced his country's acceptance of the normalization of relations with Saudi Arabia. back to normal and welcomes the reopening of embassies and the start of political dialogue.”
He continued, "We also welcome the strengthening and strengthening of relations between Tehran and Cairo, which will benefit the region and the Islamic world."
Yesterday, Sunday, the German News Agency (dpa) quoted a Gulf diplomatic source in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, as saying that Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi is expected to arrive in Jeddah on the Red Sea coast to meet Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. and senior Saudi officials.
And the German agency quoted the source as saying: “Al-Kazemi will brief the Saudi leadership on the results of his recent visit to Iran and Tehran’s position on the agenda of negotiations with Riyadh, paving the way for raising the level of the two parties’ talks to reach a solution to the points of contention between the two countries and thus restore full diplomatic relations between them.”
Early last week, Al-Kazemi made two consecutive visits to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran, during which he met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Iranian President Ibrahim.
