    {Local: Al Furat News} The General Authority of Customs announced, on Tuesday, the start of unifying the customs procedures in the port of Umm Qasr and making it one customs center under the name of the Great Welcome Square.
    The authority said in a statement, "A meeting was held today at the authority's headquarters, chaired by Director General Shaker Mahmoud Al-Zubaidi, with the directors of the departments of the general headquarters and the directors of the customs areas, during which he directed the formation of a specialized committee to implement Cabinet Resolution No. (90) for the year 2020, and the approval of the Minister of Finance was issued."
    The statement added, "Al-Zubaidi stressed the importance of this decision, as he indicated that it would eliminate bureaucracy at work after unifying four customs centers and making them one customs center called (the Great Welcome Square) and it will have positive repercussions on the infrastructure and standardization of electronic procedures with the Ministry of Transport / Iraqi Ports Company.
    The authority indicated that "he stressed on following the correct administrative contexts and applying them in the best way, while urging the directors of the customs areas to advance their departments to reach the desired goal towards achieving sustainability and development in all aspects of the customs work."
