The deputy of the "coordinating framework", Zainab al-Moussawi, said that the differences within the coordination framework are "superficial".
Al-Moussawi indicated in a television interview, which was followed by "Mawazine News", that "the next few days, after the Eid holiday, will witness an official announcement of the candidate for the new Iraqi government."
She stressed that there are "deep Kurdish differences" that limit the selection of a candidate for the presidency.
Earlier today, Monday, the leader of the Al-Fateh Alliance Hadi Al-Amiri issued a statement regarding his candidacy for the premiership, stressing that what is important to him first and foremost is to preserve the unity of the coordinating framework.
Al-Amiri said in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of it, that at a time when our honorable people are awaiting the completion of the constitutional entitlements in succession, the formation of the expected service government and the approval of its national program, we have noticed that some media outlets are circulating fake news and comments claiming that the coordination framework is witnessing competition for the premiership. Between Al-Amiri and others, she also claims that this competition may lead to the disintegration of the framework, as she puts it.
Al-Amiri stressed that if I reject such a media performance that is charged with lies, and may be paid for, I would like to confirm that this news is baseless, and that I am not a candidate for this position and reject my candidacy from those who believe that this is correct from the Brotherhood, and that what is important to me first and foremost is to preserve the unity of the framework.
Al-Amiri said, "I will provide support and assistance to any candidate agreed upon by the brothers in the framework, despite our decision not to participate in any future government." Ended 29/R77
