The Iraqi Minister of Interior, Othman Al-Ghanimi, headed a security delegation, arrived in Kirkuk Governorate.
On Monday (July 11, 2022), Al-Ghanimi went to Kirkuk governorate, and according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior, the Minister of Interior, Immigration and Displacement arrived in the governorate at the head of a security delegation.
The Iraqi Ministry of Interior did not mention any details about the current visit, its purpose and the period that the Iraqi minister will spend in Kirkuk.
Kirkuk governorate suffers from a number of problems that burden the lives of citizens, foremost of which is the high prices, poor services, as well as the fragility of the security situation, as many areas of the governorate are still subjected from time to time to armed attacks from ISIS remnants that put the lives and properties of citizens at risk.
Some residents of the province from different components, especially the Kurdish component, indicate that they were subjected to discriminatory policies in their areas and the expropriation of their lands by Arab citizens brought from the rest of the Iraqi cities and governorates.
Al-Ghanimi's visit to the province comes to discuss the security situation there, and he is scheduled to meet with a number of leaders and security officials in Kirkuk to discuss the security file there.
