Shafaq News / The Russian Foreign Ministry revealed, on Thursday, shocking numbers regarding the US invasion of Iraq, pointing out that it caused the deaths of more than 205,000 civilians, and financial losses that exceeded hundreds of billions of dollars.
The Russian Ministry published a media material on what it described as "the consequences of the military adventures of the United States and its European allies over the past two decades" on its website, listing the material damage to Iraq, Syria, Libya and Yugoslavia.
The report of the Russian Foreign Ministry stated, "The US military machine has brought untold suffering to the Middle East and North Africa, as more than 205,000 civilians were killed as a result of the invasion of Iraq by the United States and its allies."
The report attached a picture of the city of Mosul, the center of Nineveh Governorate, in northern Iraq, showing the extent of the destruction inflicted on the city as a result of the American bombing, according to the report.
The report of the Russian Foreign Ministry concluded that during the past twenty years alone, only the victims of the attacks of Western countries and the United States incurred material damage, "worth no less than 1.5 trillion dollars."
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented, through her account, "Telegram", on the report by saying: "Without pretending to complete the calculation of the losses incurred, even the least accurate calculations show that we are talking about trillions of dollars."
Zakharova explained that the publication of this report came due to Western countries repeating statements calling for compensation from Russia, and the confiscation of Russian public and private property abroad to finance the reconstruction of Ukraine.
