The Labor Committee and Parliamentary Civil Society Organizations revealed the presence of suspicious companies that support the work of some civil society organizations operating inside the country, while experts confirmed the support of large intelligence agencies for the work of these organizations.
Committee member Jassem Atwan Al-Moussawi said: “Civil society organizations are supported by various investment companies,” noting that “some of these companies are prohibited from working in Iraq and placed in the blacklist, while others are included in the law prohibiting normalization with the Zionist entity.”
He added that "the goal of these organizations is to collect information about Iraq's security and investment reality, study the environment and its suitability for investment, and submit those reports to the entities that follow those companies."
Al-Moussawi stressed, "the necessity of investigation and follow-up to the work of these organizations by the security and intelligence services, especially the Iraqi National Intelligence Service, by studying the biography of each of them, their headquarters inside and outside Iraq, and the nature of their work inside the country."
For his part, security expert Fadel Abu Ragheef stated that “civil society organizations are subject to official legal governmental procedures, and that the most common ones in Iraq, especially foreign ones, are subject to security scrutiny even for their employees.”
Abu Ragheef explained, “The accusation of all these organizations of carrying out suspicious acts is under investigation, and there are intelligence oversight bodies and the National Security Agency that are responsible for the companies, as well as the intelligence service that follows up on foreign bodies, companies or organizations in the event that they do not meet the necessary and legal conditions for their work on the matter.” lands

In turn, the strategic expert, Dr. Ahmed Al-Sharifi, said: “Civil society organizations are an important and influential actor, in the form of social authority and influence, and it is a feature of democratic systems that transmit the views and visions of the population in general and local people, especially in this or that geographical area to the decision maker. political.” Al-Sharifi added, “Organizations have the ability to influence socially, so they are considered important and influential actors in bridging confidence between public opinion as the source of authorities in democratic systems, political elites and political decision-makers.”
