Parliamentarians demand the expulsion of the Turkish ambassador, the withdrawal of his Iraqi counterpart, and the severing of trade exchange between the two countries
This came in a press conference held by the representative of the "Azm" coalition, Muhammad Al-Nouri, in the parliament building, with the participation of a number of his fellow MPs from various parliamentary blocs, and was attended by Shafak News Agency correspondent.
Al-Nouri said during the conference, "We demand an effective response to the Turkish violations, the expulsion of the Turkish ambassador in Iraq, and the withdrawal of the Iraqi ambassador from Ankara."
The parliamentarians demanded that the Iraqi government cut off the trade exchange process with the Turkish side and boycott Turkish goods, saying, "We will present a proposed law to regulate Iraqi-Turkish relations."
They affirmed by saying, "We are going to hold an emergency session, and more than 100 signatures have been collected, and it will be submitted to the President of the Council to hold the session as soon as possible."
And yesterday, Wednesday, 91 Iraqi deputies signed a request to host and raise a general topic for discussion regarding the Turkish attack, calling for the presence of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi.
