Shafaq News / Today, Saturday, the Iranian Foreign Minister expressed his country's condemnation and denunciation of the bombing of one of the resorts in the administration of Zakho in the Kurdistan Region. While the Iranian minister briefed his Iraqi counterpart Fouad Hussein on the results of the tripartite talks that took place in Tehran with Turkey and Russia, the Iraqi Foreign Minister confirmed That Iraq will take the measures guaranteed by international conventions to protect its citizens.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency that its Minister, Fouad Hussein, received a phone call from Iran's Foreign Minister, Hussein Amir Abdollahian, in which he expressed his condemnation and denunciation of the bombing of a tourist resort in Zakho city in Dohuk governorate, on Wednesday 20/7/2022, Which led to the death and injury of a large number of safe Iraqi civilians, including women and children.
The Iranian minister expressed his "sympathy with the families of the victims and the government and people of Iraq," stressing "the importance of stabilizing Iraq's security."
The Iranian foreign minister added, according to the statement, that "Iran is ready to provide any assistance to the people and government of Iraq."
In another aspect of the conversation, the Iranian Foreign Minister briefed his Iraqi counterpart on "the tripartite talks that took place in Tehran between the presidents of Russia, Turkey and Iran on 7/19/2021."
A statement stated that "Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein thanked his Iranian counterpart for calling and offering his condolences to the Iraqi people," stressing that "the Iraqi government will take all measures guaranteed by international conventions that would protect Iraqi citizens and the sovereignty of Iraq."
The House of Representatives was held, today, Saturday, in the presence of 242 deputies, to discuss the Turkish bombing of the Barkh resort, in the independent administration of Zakho in the Kurdistan Region, in the presence of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense and army commanders.
Last Wednesday, Turkish army artillery bombed the "Barkh" resort in Zakho district, killing nine Iraqi tourists and wounding several others, including women and children.
As a result, on Thursday, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs handed the Turkish ambassador in Baghdad, Ali Reza Günay, a protest note, against the backdrop of the Turkish bombing.
An official ceremony took place earlier this morning, in the presence of the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, to receive and bid farewell to the bodies of the victims of the bombing that targeted a tourist resort in the administration of the independent Zakho region.
