The head of the Parliamentary Agriculture and Marshlands Committee, Thaer Mekhei, revealed, on Saturday, that the committee intends to hold a "high-level" meeting to discuss the water file.
He told Mawazine News, "The committee will hold a meeting in the presence of the parliament presidency, the Ministry of Water Resources and related parties, to discuss the water file and water releases, especially from the Turkish side."
He added, "The recent Turkish actions are only to calm the escalating situation between it and Iraq, and that the committee is working with all its effort not to build the Al-Jazra irrigation dam that Turkey began to construct." Ended 29/N33
