MP Hassan Al-Asadi demanded, on Saturday, the dismissal of the Iraqi ambassador to Jordan, Haider Al-Adhari, and his trial for violating the constitution, the applicable law and national values, against the background of pictures that spread of his wife on social media.
Al-Asadi said in a statement, "The media outlets published indecent images and violated morals and moral values that Iraqis agree to sponsor and abide by their contents. The wife of the Iraqi ambassador to Jordan showed the wife of Iraq's ambassador to Jordan with Mutreb in a shameful situation that contradicts the values, morals, the Iraqi constitution and the culture and social norms of the Iraqi Muslim community."
He explained that "the Iraqi law in force prohibits these outrageous acts and entails penalties for them. Legal articles (401) (402) impose a penalty of imprisonment and a fine on those who commit indecent acts, such as those committed by the wife of Iraq's ambassador to Jordan, with the knowledge and consent of her husband, in an insulting precedent for Iraqis.
Al-Asadi demanded the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister to "dismiss Iraq's ambassador in Jordan for this ugly act," calling on the public prosecutor to "submit a complaint to him and his wife because they insulted Iraq and Iraqis and damaged the country's reputation and reflected a vulgar and denied image of Iraqi women known for their chastity, modesty and dignity." finished 29/h
