Today, Saturday, the head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, stressed that early elections are an option that can be discussed, understood and implemented.
Al-Hakim said during the Islamic Conference to Combat Violence against Women, “Going to early elections needs preparations and parliamentary and legal discussions that make this option a practical, safe and acceptable path for all partners, and it is an option that can be discussed, understood and implemented after the formation of the new government, amending the election law and ensuring the safety of The performance of the Independent High Electoral Commission and the provision of the logistical and technical requirements required to conduct fair elections that address the mistakes of the recent past and approve the country’s general budget.”
He indicated that "there is no doubt that the complexities of the arena, the political imbalances, the alignments that took place after the elections and the ongoing media conflict, are all crises that have taken their toll from the country with time, effort and anticipation, and citizens are still waiting for the solution and the end of the political blockage, which has become harmful to people's interests and disrupts the work of state institutions." .
He added that "throwing accusations, disavowing responsibilities, and open escalation are all matters that do not serve the citizens with anything and only increase their resentment and anger at all parties, and raising the ceiling of political demands without the existence of realistic and practical projects does not represent an entrance to resolving outstanding and pressing issues in service, construction and economics."
The presence of everyone does not mean the participation of everyone in government and executive work on the basis of quotas and negative consensus, but rather it means the effectiveness of everyone in decision-making, support for achievements and successes, and presenting constructive recommendations and proposals with which the state is strengthened and the government succeeds in serving the citizens and their interests.
He continued: "We have previously stated, and we affirm today once again that we do not participate in the next government booth, not out of an escape from responsibility, but out of a way to allow the prime minister to choose his successful and harmonious team. The mistake is out of concern and constructive criticism away from weakening the state and its institutions, which is what we have always done in strengthening the state and its institutions.”
Mr. Al-Hakim said: "I call on all parties, partners and brothers, whose sincerity, patriotism and good intentions I do not doubt, to give priority to the interest of the country, to shake hands with love and brotherhood, and to rely on each other to overcome the current crises together towards a secure and prosperous future for our people."
He noted: "We still believe with the brothers in the coordinating framework in the importance of the Sadrist movement's presence and effectiveness in decision-making centers and work in state institutions, not only according to their electoral entitlement, but also because of the presence of benevolent and patriotic energies in this current."
