Central Bank of Iraq auction.. dollar sales decline and remittances rise

Shafaq News/ Cash sales of the US dollar decreased in the currency sale auction of the Central Bank of Iraq, today, Thursday, while foreign remittances increased.
Shafak News Agency correspondent stated that the Central Bank sold today, during its auction to buy and sell US dollars, 249 million and 859 thousand and 465 US dollars, which were covered by the bank at a base exchange rate of 1460 dinars per dollar.
Our correspondent added, that the cash purchase of dollars by banks decreased from the value of total sales to reach 22 million and 200 thousand, while the rest of the amount of 226 million and 659 thousand and 465 dollars went to strengthen balances outside the country in the form of remittances and credits.
Our correspondent indicated that 43 banks have responded to requests to enhance balances abroad, and 11 banks to meet cash requests, in addition to 82 mediation companies.
