Today, Monday, the Parliamentary Finance Committee proposed a solution along the lines of the Food Security Law to fill the financial gaps that the country is going through due to the impact of the delay in approving the general budget for 2022.
A member of the Finance Committee, Jamal Kougar, said in a statement to the “National News Center” that “the approval of the budget affects all aspects, the economy and institutions, as well as the public and private sectors,” adding that “the budget has no alternative and there is nothing else, provided that it is submitted by a government. Fully valid.”
He pointed out that "the current government (Al-Kazemi's government) is a caretaker government and does not have the ability to send financial projects and laws, whether budget or otherwise."
Representative Cougar confirmed, “The committee has one case to fill some of the financial gaps that the government needs by legislating laws similar to the Food Security Law,” revealing that “the government can, in coordination with the Finance Committee, propose a draft bill.”
And he indicated, "The Finance Committee will adopt that draft and it will be converted into a proposed law to be legislated along the lines of the Food Security Law."
