On Thursday, the Ministry of Electricity in the Kurdistan Region issued a set of guidelines about its plan for the winter season.
A statement by the ministry stated that this came during the visit of the Minister of Electricity Kamal Muhammad to the General Directorate of Electricity of Erbil and the meeting with the staff of the Directorate.
The statement quoted Muhammad as saying during the meeting that “the percentage of electricity production will be increased during the winter season, and campaigns to remove violations will be expanded, in addition to the need to intensify efforts to collect electricity and try to reduce pressure on power plants.”
He also indicated that "two new stations will be opened, with the aim of helping to increase electricity production," according to the statement.
