On Sunday, Jordan announced that Iraq was the fourth largest importer of Oman's industry during the eight months of this year.
The Amman Jordan Chamber of Industry said in a report that "the chamber's exports during the 8 months of the current year 2022 amounted to 4.819 billion dinars, compared to 3.177 billion dinars for the same period last year."
She added that "the exports of Jordanian industrial products spread in most regions of the Kingdom reach more than 142 markets around the world due to the export of 1,400 various commodities."
She indicated that "India, the United States of America, Saudi Arabia and Iraq, accounted for more than half of the Oman Chamber of Industry's exports during 7 months of this year, amounting to 2.509 billion dinars," noting that "Oman's industry exports to Iraq rose during 7 months of the current year 2022 to 383 million dinars compared to 349 million dinars for the same period last year, an increase of 10 percent.
She explained that "the Chamber's exports during the first half of the current year 2022 were distributed to the sectors of the mining, chemical, cosmetics, engineering, electrical and information technology industries, in addition to the exports of the sectors of the catering, food, agricultural, livestock, therapeutic, medical and leather supplies and other industries."
It is noteworthy that Iraq imports most goods and commodities from neighboring countries, especially Turkey and Iran, after Jordan was a major market for Iraq in the nineties of the last century during the economic siege on the country.
