The Iraqi Foreign Minister discusses with McGurk the implementation of the "strategic dialogue"
Shafaq News / Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein discussed with Brett McGurk, a member of the National Security Council and White House Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa, the mechanism for implementing the steps that were adopted during the strategic dialogue session.
This came on the sidelines of the work of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, held in New York, according to a statement received by Shafaq News Agency.
According to the statement, during the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States of America, especially military and security relations, and the mechanism for implementing the steps that were adopted during the strategic dialogue session.
The meeting dealt with the regional situation in the region, the current developments in it, and Iraq's relations with the countries of the region.
Hussein stressed, "Through its pivotal role, Iraq seeks to be a factor and a source of stability, calm and mediation to resolve differences between some countries in the region."
For his part, Brett McGurk, according to the statement, expressed his "appreciation for Iraq's efforts in promoting peace and stability in the region
