The leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Shailan Fathi, revealed the latest developments in negotiations with the Party Party over the presidency.
Fathi said: "The meetings between the leader of the Union Party, Bafel Talabani, and the leader of the Democratic Party, Massoud Barzani, are very good and hopeful steps, especially since they began after a months-long estrangement between the two parties."
She pointed out that "yesterday's meeting discussed not only the presidential file, but other common points between the two parties and other matters on which the two parties differ, including the elections in the region, how to manage the region's resources, and the relationship between the center and Kurdistan."
Fathi stressed that, "until this moment, the meetings are continuing, and there has been no change in the positions of the two parties regarding the presidency, as each party adheres to its position."
