Today, Thursday, Fadel Jaber, a member of the Al-Fateh Alliance, confirmed that the Kurds' failure to resolve the file of the Presidency of the Republic will delay the convening of the parliament session.
Jaber said in a press statement that "the two Kurdish parties, until this moment, have not resolved the issue of the presidency, as the Kurdistan Democratic Party adheres to its candidate, Riber Ahmed, and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan adheres to its candidate, Barham Salih."
He added, "The failure of the Kurds to resolve the file of the Presidency of the Republic will delay the convening of the parliament session dedicated to choosing the President of the Republic, and this matter is not in the interest of the country."
He continued, "It is clear that there is no real desire by the political blocs to get out of the crisis, because there is no acceleration in understandings, resolving outstanding issues between the parties, and taking decisions quickly, whether with regard to setting a date for Al-Sadr's visit or announcing the date of the parliament session."
