Baghdad / National News Center
The Al-Rafidain Forum, in its fourth edition, is being held this year in light of a world witnessing dramatic developments, and its events promise changes that affect the structure of the system, threaten its major powers, and their effects may affect other countries, which will be affected as a result of the succession of health, security and economic crises; As soon as the world recovered from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, it was surprised by the security developments in Europe, which were followed by unprecedented rises in commodity and energy prices, threatening the value chains and food security of the peoples of the world, as well as their intertwined economic effects. On the other hand, this year, some of the results of climatic changes and signs of the water crisis in Iraq and the region were clearly visible, as well as the significant rise in temperatures and the increase in extreme weather conditions, especially dust storms; Therefore, it is necessary to look into these developments and monitor their repercussions and effects in the world and the Middle East region, which is also witnessing developments of similar severity. At the same time, the region is still experiencing some turmoil and instability. Afghanistan witnessed the return of the Taliban movement to rule after the US withdrawal, while Arab countries such as Tunisia, Libya and Bahrain are experiencing political crises that require consideration of their results and local and international positions. At the local level, the forum comes in light of the atmosphere imposed by the results of the early parliamentary elections, the results of which produced a new political map, which impeded the political consensus regarding the formation of the government. The forum also coincides with the passage of nearly a year since the Baghdad Summit for Cooperation and Partnership. The forum will be attended by Iraqi, Arab and international personalities, at a high level from presidencies, ministers, senior executive, legislative, legal, diplomats, military and security officials. government, and personalities from the local, Arab and foreign private sector. Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue RCD announced the holding of its next meeting in its fourth edition, “Al-Rafidain Forum 2022” under the slogan “The World is Changing” for the period from Monday 26- Thursday 29 September 2022 over a period of (4 days) at Al-Rasheed Hotel (Royal Tulip) - Baghdad. The official opening of the forum will be on Monday 9/26/2022 at 5:00 pm, and there will be special sessions for the presidential personalities and guests of honor. It is noteworthy that the objectives of the forum are to put forward national and international initiatives on the issues it discusses, by urging participants to look realistically at national, regional and global problems, and to give priority to rationality and positive thinking in order to reach solutions to those problems. The centrality of Iraq is also that it be a place for constructive dialogue on global developments, and the possibility of hosting international forums and conferences that discuss in depth these files and come up with practical recommendations regarding them. In addition to promoting scientific communication between elites and Iraqi, Arab and foreign decision-makers, especially universities, local and international NGOs, decision-makers and visionaries. Enriching the discussion on political, social, economic, environmental and global security issues, analyzing their repercussions, diagnosing problems and ways to deal positively with them. Exchanging ideas and enhancing cooperation between research and thinking centers in the world and the region in a way that enhances communication to find effective solutions to contemporary global problems, mature visions and opinions, and strengthen relations between local and international institutions on the one hand, and government institutions on the other. The forum includes the following workshops: 1.
