Today, Sunday, the Supreme Judicial Council decided to form publishing courts specialized in examining journalists’ complaints.
A statement of the Supreme Judicial Council stated, "The Council held its eleventh session at eight o'clock on Sunday morning, corresponding to 9/25/2022, headed by the President of the Federal Court of Cassation, Faiq Zaidan."
The statement added that, "During the session, the Council approved the following:
1- The promotion of a number of judges and members of the public prosecution and the assignment of a number of them and the granting of judicial positions that require the approval of formations in some federal appeal presidencies according to the proposal submitted by the Appeals Presidency.
2- The Council decided to answer the request of a union Journalists to form publishing courts in the center of the Courts of Appeal to hear complaints about journalists related to their journalistic work and to confirm the previous uncles regarding notification of the Journalists Syndicate of any complaints lodged against journalists.
3- The Council decided to form a central committee in the Supreme Judicial Council to supervise the construction and renovation of the courts to be in form and content at a level appropriate to the status of the judiciary.
4- The Council decided to organize workshops in each appellate area in the presence of a representative of the Ministry of Water Resources to discuss cases of sabotage and abuse of water resources facilities and to find appropriate solutions to them.
