Baghdad/ Firas Adnan
Yesterday, Sunday, the Wisdom Movement led by Ammar al-Hakim spoke about the willingness of the coordination framework to withdraw the nomination of Muhammad al-Sudani for the position of prime minister, stressing agreement with the Sadrist movement on its demands to dissolve parliament, but he indicated a difference in the implementation mechanism, stressing the need to proceed with forming a new government whose mission is limited to Preparing for early elections in conjunction with amendments to electoral laws.
This position is the second within the coordinating framework after the leader of the Ahl al-Haq movement, Qais al-Khazali, announced the Sudanese's willingness to withdraw his candidacy in exchange for the Sadrist movement's acceptance of the government formation process.
A member of the Wisdom Movement, Omar al-Samarrai, said, "The state is disrupted due to political conflicts, and we must go to the language of dialogue as the solution to get out of the stifling political crisis."
Al-Samarrai continued, "The formation of the government depends on conducting more dialogues," stressing "the need for quick solutions, especially within the Shiite house."
He pointed out that "the Shiite house falls on its shoulders to get out of this crisis and resolve the political crisis in conjunction with the existence of a kind of calm within the Kurdish and Sunni houses."
Al-Samarrai explained that “the legislative institution is completely suspended due to political pressure,” calling on “Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi to call for the resumption of sessions to remedy the crisis, even if it is dedicated to electing the president of the republic or forming a government.”
And he indicated, "The coordinating framework has no problem in holding sessions whose purpose is to legislate laws and carry out oversight tasks. The important thing for us is to break the stalemate barrier of political dialogues."
Al-Samarrai stressed, "There is no problem in replacing the framework candidate for the position of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani or dissolving parliament and going to early elections," adding, "This process must be preceded by procedures related to amending the electoral law and forming a new government with full powers."
He believes, "Proceeding with these measures should be taken in the light of dialogues and discussions, especially between the coordination framework and the Sadrist movement."
Al-Samarrai concluded, that «there is flexibility in dealing with the coordination framework and making concessions, and we need from the other party reciprocity in order to achieve the public interest».
For his part, a member of the other current, Karam Khazali, said that "all what we have presented over the past period is consistent with the Sadrist movement's calls, whether in terms of dissolving parliament or setting a date for early elections."
Khazali added, "The difference occurs in the mechanism for implementing these demands, because we see that going to early elections cannot take place under a caretaker government with daily tasks. Rather, we should form an authentic transitional government with specific competencies."
He pointed out that "the main task of this government, according to our view, is to prepare for early elections with other issues legislated by Parliament, foremost of which is the amendment of the election law and its commission, until a decision is taken to dissolve itself."
Khazali added, "The Sadrist movement wants to dissolve parliament at the present time, although this procedure cannot be implemented with the presence of a government that handles daily tasks."
He explained, "The coordination framework is still sticking to the Sudanese, but if something happens that must change, there is no objection to that."
Khazali concluded, “The coordinating framework is ready to present the alternative, provided that the Sadrist movement guarantees its agreement to form the government, but at the same time we affirm that the two parties agree to hold early elections with some differences over the mechanisms.”
The leader of the Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, had called for “the adoption of dialogue in addressing the current political crisis, holding everyone responsible for conceding to the supreme national interest and giving it priority over factional interests.” It is prolonged.”
