Kurdistan Region and Jordan sign a memorandum of understanding to enhance trade and investment cooperation
The memorandum was signed by the President of the Jordanian Businessmen Association Hamdi Al-Tabbaa and the President of the Kurdistan Investors Union, Ahmad Rikani, which aims to strengthen relations of cooperation between the business communities of the two parties, enhance economic, commercial and investment cooperation and develop joint work in a manner that serves and expands the horizons of economic relations between them.
The Jordanian Businessmen Association stated in a statement issued today, Sunday, that the memorandum aims to encourage joint cooperation between the Jordanian and Iraqi business communities, in a way that contributes to increasing the volume of trade exchange, expanding the base of economic activities between the two countries, exchanging investment information and visits by trade delegations.
The memorandum, which was signed on the sidelines of the Jordan Investment Forum with the Kurdistan Region, which was organized by the Jordanian Businessmen Association yesterday, Saturday, in Amman, is an important step to deepen bilateral relations at various levels, support the national economy, push the wheel of growth and provide job opportunities by attracting Iraqi investments from the region. Kurdistan.
The association's statement quoted Al-Tabbaa as saying that the memorandum of establishing the joint business council comes from the association's keenness to activate its role in enhancing the investment environment in the Kingdom and attracting investments.
He explained that the Jordanian business community is looking forward to expanding commercial and investment activities and entering Jordanian industries more into the Iraqi market through the Kurdistan Region.
Al-Tabbaa also indicated that the Jordanian Businessmen Association seeks to develop a joint action plan aimed at holding continuous meetings between the two sides to determine priority economic sectors.
