A statement by the Parliament’s Media Department, received by Mawazine News, stated that “the Security and Defense Committee held a meeting today, headed by Representative Khaled Al-Obeidi, and the presence of the members of the committee to discuss hosting ministers and security leaders related to their work on the committee’s work based on the directives of the Speaker of the House of Representatives in the second session of the necessity of the parliamentary committees resuming their oversight role. and Legislative.”
He added that "during the meeting, the hosting of the Minister of Interior was discussed, as well as the discussion of hosting the Supreme Committee and its members to return their contracts rescinded by the military and security services."
The statement continued, "The committee discussed hosting the National Security Adviser and Deputy Commander of Joint Operations to discuss the repercussions of the repeated Turkish and Iranian attacks on Iraqi territory," noting that "the committee discussed hosting the head of the National Security Apparatus to see the mechanism of the agency's work."
The statement quoted the committee as confirming that “it will hold its periodic meetings in order to discuss the projects and proposals of the stalled laws to proceed with their legislation,” stressing that “legislating laws is one of its priority in the current legislative term.” Ended 29/R77
