The Kurdistan Islamic Party confirmed, on Monday, that all matters indicate the existence of a deep political dispute between the two ruling parties in the region over the file of the Presidency of the Federal Republic.
The former deputy of the Islamic Party, Salim Hamza, said in an exclusive interview with Mawazine News Agency, that the reality of the political relationship between the Democratic Party and the National Union indicates that reaching the agreement is not an easy matter, but it is not impossible either.
Hamza continued, that with the insistence of the two parties on their candidates, we believe that the Kurds will enter the Federal House of Representatives with two candidates, and that their choice falls on the shoulders of the democratic process in the country.
He added, however, that Baghdad does not have the right to interfere in naming a candidate for the presidency, because this matter is considered a political custom that belongs to the Kurds, specifically the National Union, but the Democrat now found himself in need of change and took the position.
