    Today, Monday, the Ministry of Agriculture identified the governorates with the most bulldozing of orchards and the percentage of abuses on agricultural lands, noting the formation of governmental solution committees to address the problem.
    The Director-General of the Agricultural Lands Department in the ministry, Ali Hammoud, told the official news agency, "The bulldozing of lands is an eternal problem," noting that "the laws and agricultural legislation confirm that agricultural lands and orchards should not be trespassed or razed, as it leads to land deterioration and the confinement of agricultural land."
    Hammoud added, "The government vacuum in 2003 led to some citizens bypassing and bulldozing orchards and lands in the provinces, especially since most of the areas that were bulldozed were in densely populated areas in Baghdad, Basra and Mosul."
    He pointed out that "the percentage of abuses with the total arable area does not exceed 5% or less," stressing that "the government is serious about addressing these problems, as resolution and follow-up committees have been formed by the agricultural directorates, as well as a solution committee in the Department of Agriculture." Farmland".
    He explained, "There are some decisions issued in favor of the Ministry of Agriculture prohibiting razing, in addition to the existence of coordination between the Agricultural Land Department, the judiciary and administrative units," pointing out "to proceed with dissolving the lands and returning the land to state real estate even if it is (pure property) after taking legal measures." ".
    He continued, "The percentage of reclaimed lands is estimated at more than 1% of the 5% excess," noting that "the preparation of a draft law in 2016 and submitting it to Parliament to address the problem of razing lands, as it ensures that the issue of razing is not repeated in the future and addresses what is left behind." in previous years."
    He added, "The department is working to prevent the abuses that are taking place at the present time and to preserve the agricultural area."
