Today, Wednesday, the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee announced the hosting of the Minister of Interior, to discuss the developments of Dhi Qar and Basra, in addition to other files.
And the committee said in a statement, “Based on the principle of activating the role of the House of Representatives in the supervisory and legislative role, the Security and Defense Committee started its first hosting in the second legislative term, and it hosted the Minister of Interior, the agents and the advanced owners in it.”
The statement added that "the security situation in Iraq in general and the security situation in the provinces of Dhi Qar and Basra in particular was discussed."
The meeting also discussed, “evaluating the performance of the Ministry of Interior and the administrative measures taken by the ministry during the period of the caretaker government, in addition to discussing the issue of their contracts terminated by the Ministry of Interior, and the committee promised to support the budget of the Ministry of Interior in the next federal budget in light of the ministry’s requirements.”
