Today, Sunday, the Supreme Judicial Council announced the issuance of a life sentence for a criminal who blew up electric power transmission towers.
The council said in a statement, "The Diyala Criminal Court has issued a life sentence against a criminal for the crime of blowing up electric power transmission towers in Al-Salam district, Al-Wandiya village."
He added that "the verdict against the criminal comes based on the provisions of Article 4/1 and in light of Articles 2/1 and 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Law No. 13 of 2005, and based on Article 132/1 of penalties."
