, the Parliamentary Migration Committee called, today, Wednesday, for the government to assume its responsibilities towards the recent phenomenon of migration due to drought and water scarcity, especially from agricultural and rural areas.

The head of the committee, Sherif Suleiman, said in an exclusive interview with "Mawazine News", "Iraq is now suffering from the danger of water scarcity, so it has become the duty of the government to take into account the mechanism of dealing with this file, and how to cooperate with the countries of the source."

Suleiman indicated that "there is a real necessity for Iraq to move on this file, and to override Iraq's share, so it is the government's duty to implement its duties and take a serious stance towards it," noting that it is a duty to preserve water as it is an international custom.
