, a deputy from the State of Law coalition, Muhannad Al-Khazraji, confirmed today, Wednesday, that the candidate for the President of the Republic will proceed and be resolved in tomorrow's session, with the agreement of the political blocs.
Al-Khazraji said in a statement received by Mawazine News, a copy of it, that "the Kurdish parties' agreement on their candidate for the presidency is an internal matter," noting that the president's position will be decided in tomorrow's session with the agreement of the political blocs, even if the Kurdish parties entered with more than one candidate
. Resolving the presidency of the republic will lead the president to assign a candidate for the coordination framework to head the government, and the other political blocs hope that the Kurdish blocs will enter with a single candidate to move towards completing the constitutional and legal benefits.
In the statement, Al-Khazraji stressed that "everyone realizes that the issue of the session to pass the presidency of the republic is an inevitable matter in light of the seriousness of the current situation, which portends dire consequences that may contribute to complicating the situation and pushing towards creative chaos backed by an external agenda aimed at tearing apart the unity of the country's entity."
