"Al-Araji to Iran" .. The Iraqi Foreign Ministry reviews to Parliament its steps to respond to the "Iranian and Turkish aggression"
Shafaq News/ Today, Tuesday, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein and a cadre of his ministry reviewed the ministry's steps to respond to the "Iranian and Turkish" aggression against the Kurdistan Region, noting that National Security Adviser Qassem al-Araji was sent to Tehran.
The Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee said, in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, that it, headed by Deputy Amer Al-Fateh, and in the presence of Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, First Deputy Chairman of the Council and the two Vice-Chairmen of the Committee and its members, hosted today Fouad Hussein, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Undersecretary of the Ministry and a number of its officials.
The statement added, that the committee discussed the hosting, which came based on the directives of the President of the Council to discuss the recent Iranian and Turkish bombing of the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
The statement indicated that the foreign minister reviewed, during the hosting, which was attended by the Secretary-General of the House of Representatives, the most important steps taken by the ministry regarding the attack on the Kurdistan region, noting that the first of which was summoning the Iranian ambassador and handing him a strongly worded protest note, and then meeting with a delegation from the Iranian side at the ministry’s headquarters on Monday. The fifth of this month to discuss how to find solutions and put an end to the ongoing violations of Iraq's sovereignty.
The minister indicated, according to the statement, that the two sides agreed to continue the talks by sending an Iraqi delegation to Iran headed by Qassem Al-Araji, the National Security Adviser.
The minister also pointed out that Iraq had submitted a protest note to the United Nations and demanded that it put an end to the Turkish and Iranian violations, after which the organization issued a statement condemning and rejecting those violations and repeated attacks on the security and sovereignty of Iraqi territory and the lives of its citizens, adding, “Statements of denunciation and condemnation are no longer sufficient. The international community has taken concrete steps to put an end to all the military attacks that occur frequently on Iraqi lands,” noting that the Iraqi government is making efforts to urge the international community to take effective measures in this regard.
