Major General Muhammad Bagheri said in a statement on the situation of terrorist groups in the northwest of the country: This is an old issue; These groups have lived since the beginning of the revolution with the support of America and other enemies in the northern Iraq region, but in the past few years and with the support of America, their headquarters turned into a group against our national security.
He added: We have several examples in which Israel chose people among whom it trained, and then infiltrated the country and carried out assassinations and destabilizing activities and used them as criminal terrorists. for the Revolutionary Guard.
Major General Bagheri continued: During these years, we constantly warned the Kurdistan region of Iraq and said that it is not from the assets of the neighborhood that we provided all these services to the Iraqi people and then you come and allow them to establish a military and media headquarters. They promised us many times to stop the acts of terrorist groups, but they did not move, so it was decided to confront them, and this is based on the United Nations Charter and self-defense.
The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces referred to the recent operations of the ground forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps against the headquarters of terrorist groups in northern Iraq, stressing that we carried out this operation in accordance with all humanitarian principles and are keen not to harm any civilians, in cases where terrorist groups were taking from an apartment in one The buildings are a bomb-making workshop. We have refrained from targeting this building to prevent harm to ordinary people.
He explained: We told the authorities of the Kurdistan region that there are two options, either turning these armed terrorist groups into civilian groups and disarming them, or that the Kurdistan region expels them from this region, and from here, we can never tolerate that there are 3,000 armed elements behind our borders and that they have Bomb-making center, and we don't tolerate it in any way and we will confront them, so this process will continue, no matter how long it takes, we will continue this process and even greater than it as well.
The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces said: Now the people of the region demonstrated in several cases in front of the offices of terrorist groups and demanded that the terrorists leave the area. These groups are looking precisely to divide the country, and the leaders and mercenaries of the spy services are looking to separate a part of our country and establish a government for themselves.
