The Supreme Judicial Council announced the issuance of arrest warrants against those suspected of being involved in customs and tax deposits.
A statement by the judiciary stated, "The Karkh Investigation Court, which is specialized in integrity issues, on August 21, 2022, had previously received news that included the existence of an organized network linked to influential people that committed illegal acts with the aim of manipulating the amounts of customs and tax deposits."
He added that "on August 21, 2022 the court decided to stop the disbursement of these trusts in accordance with the book No. 2375 dated August 21, 2022 addressed to the office of the Minister of Finance at the time. The court also issued arrest warrants against the suspects and listened to a number of specialized employees in the Ministry of Finance. The investigation is continuing in order to complete the evidence in the case.”
