Member of Parliament, Hassan Al-Saadi, hinted, on Saturday, to the possibility of delaying the payment of salaries if the budget is not approved, while noting that there are many challenges that will be borne by the next year’s budget.
Al-Asadi said in a statement reported by the official "Al-Sabah" newspaper, "The problem of delaying employee salaries in the event of not approving a budget will be addressed by Parliament," noting that "approving the new budget for next year is one of the top priorities of the new government headed by Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani."
He added, "There are many challenges that the next year's budget will carry, including dealing with the exchange rate and providing job grades within the deletion and creation, especially with a rise in oil prices," adding that "all these challenges should have been addressed in the 2022 budget, but political strife prevented Without it".
Al-Asadi revealed “the readiness of the 2023 budget, but there is no finance minister or government that can discuss and vote on it and transfer it to the House of Representatives,” warning that delaying its approval is not only in the interest of employees, but also delays addressing the problem of unemployment and social welfare salaries and providing job grades
. The difficulty of approving the budget according to the existing conditions, pointing out that "it was supposed to be discussed since last September to be approved at the beginning of the year, but political problems always cause delays in passing it until April and it will be implemented in June or July, which leads to delays in projects."
