Informed political sources revealed, on Saturday, the most prominent differences in the formation of the ministerial cabinet for the government of Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, which was scheduled to be granted the confidence of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, today.
The sources said, "The most prominent differences in the formation of the cabinet for the government of Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani are the conflict between the Alliance of Sovereignty and the Alliance of Resolve over the Ministry of Planning and the Ministry of Defense," explaining that "there is a conflict between the forces of the coordinating framework over the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Oil and the Ministry of Finance."
The sources indicated that "the Kurdish political forces, including differences over the division of the four ministerial portfolios between the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, the Union wants 2 of the Kurdish share, and the Democratic Party seeks to obtain 3 ministries."
The sources stressed that "until now, there is no resolution for the ministerial portfolios or their candidate, and the dialogues are continuing without any final understandings and agreements."
Yesterday,  a well-informed source said that the Azm coalition is seeking to take the position of Speaker of Parliament instead of the ministries.
The source told (Baghdad Today), "The Alliance of Resolve, headed by Muthanna Al-Samarrai, decided to seek to take the position of Speaker of Parliament instead of the ministries."
He added that he had informed the partners of this.
On the other hand, the independent politician Mahmoud Al-Hayani revealed that the price of the sovereign ministry had reached $75 million, in the midst of the disputes over the ministries’ shares in the cabinet of the government formation officer, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani.
Al-Hayani said in a press statement that I followed (Baghdad Today), that "there are differences over the ministries in the cabinet of the person in charge of forming the government, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, noting that" the price of the sovereign ministries reached 75 million dollars, while the price of the service ministries is less than that.
Al-Hayani explained that "the price of the Ministry of Defense reached 75 million dollars, while the portfolio of the Ministry of Interior has not been resolved yet."
And he indicated that "there is a possibility that the session will be postponed to next Monday, and if it takes place, it will be in an incomplete cabinet for a number of ministries, which must reach 13 ministries, in order to gain confidence."
This information comes at a time when the parties to the coordination framework are talking about “excluding” the ministries of defense and interior from quotas.
Yesterday, Friday, political activist Mazen Al-Zaidi and close to the commissioner, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, described the decision of the coordination framework to remove the ministries of defense and interior from the quotas as a qualitative shift, indicating that the decision would open the door for the Sudanese to announce a security revolution in the joints of the ministries.
Al-Zaidi said in a report published by Sky News and seen by (Baghdad Today) that "the decision of the coordination framework came as a confirmation of his previous positions that it should bypass the quotas and form a government of national service. In the future, according to mechanisms that guarantee stopping the decline first, and success for the new government secondly.”
He added that "by his decision to authorize the prime minister to choose ministers and rotate ministries among the candidates of political forces, the coordinating framework will open the door to leaving the quotas and deal a blow to the corruption networks that nestled in the joints of the state."
However, "the ball is now in the court of the Kurdish and Sunni forces by strengthening this step of the coordination framework, and granting the Prime Minister-designate the freedom to choose his ministers and not to impose old faces and distribute bags according to his vision, so removing the defense and interior portfolios from the quota system, as the framework decided, represents a qualitative leap in the administration of the state and opens The door to radical reforms in the security file and the development of the armed forces.”
He added that "the interior and defense portfolios will be chosen by the prime minister himself who is convinced of their ability and competence, regardless of the political background, but this does not, of course, mean a lack of consultation with the concerned parties, nor does it mean that the defense portfolio will go to a non-Sunni component."
