, President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid stressed, today, Tuesday, the importance of consolidating relations with the European Union countries in the security, economic and cultural fields.
A statement by the Presidency of the Republic, which Mawazine News received a copy of, stated that "President Rashid received the Ambassador of the European Union to Iraq, Villa Variola, who congratulated the President on his assumption of the position of President of the Republic, wishing success in performing his duties."
Rashid expressed his thanks and gratitude to Ambassador Variola for his kind congratulations, expressing his readiness to support the ambassador's efforts to serve the higher interests of Iraq and the Union countries
