, a member of the Parliamentary Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Committee, Basem Al-Gharibawi, said on Wednesday that the oil and gas law is one of the important and necessary laws that must recognize that oil wealth is the basis of the state budget.
Al-Gharibawi pointed out, "the need for a political consensus to pass the law, as without consensus it is difficult for this law to pass," explaining that "there are proposals to divide this law into sections. ".
Al-Gharibawi added, "The issue is still just an opinion that has not matured within the committee," expressing his hope that "the political blocs, parties and political parties will be aware of what happened in the previous stage and think seriously about overcoming the problems and obstacles that prevented it from being passed," according to the official newspaper.
