    Yes Iraq: Baghdad

The new Minister of Electricity, Ziad Ali Fadel, reviewed all the indicators that disturbed the improvement of electric power in Iraq, but the most prominent axis of his speech focused on poor collection and the loss of distribution companies to financial losses estimated at about 4 billion dinars per month, or approximately 48 billion annually or $32 million annually.
Fadel said in statements followed by “Yes Iraq”, that “it is the citizen’s right to ask questions about the electricity situation, and he says from 2003 until now, the status of electricity has not changed, and are there really that there are external parties preventing the development of electricity in the country.”
Fadel continued, by saying: We answer this eternal question, that "the issue is not political or international that impedes the access of electricity to the country, but rather production, planning, financing and a correct and common implementation among all parties."
Fadel pointed out that “there are stages and plans that will be worked on, and they are of three types: short-term plans in which we will focus on during the first three months of our assumption of work, and based on the energy that we currently have, as we will use it, organize it and distribute it properly to all regions.” .
The minister noted that there is a "long-term plan, which is the strategy until 2030," noting that "after the approval of the ministry's law in 2017, we had the problem of profit and loss in these companies. The electrical network, so there is a plan that we will implement during the coming period to boost the collection’s imports, and this plan is based on motivating the citizen to pay the electricity collection fees, in order to preserve the electrical network and the permanence of its work.”
This is the most important topic in which the Minister of Electricity spoke, as the ministry, whose companies lose about 32 million dollars annually, out of the 10 billion dollars the ministry spends annually, only 5% of it returns as levies, which explains the reason for the companies’ loss.
